ERASMUS + IDP Living project. Development of a training program for boosting and facilitating the community living of people with intellectual disabilities.
Intellectual Product 1. Co-created methodological guide for training IDPs, their families and the professionals.
Last Monday, January 29th, 2018, in the Occupational Center TOLA in Silla (Valencia), COPAVA carried out in 2 groups the first of the 2 scheduled Co-Creation sessions with the direct participation of 20 people with intellectual disabilities, relatives and professionals. The assistants belonged to the occupational centers of Xàtiva (La Costera), Ontinyent (José Antonio Bodoque), Torrent (ABD Torrent), Manises (Francisco Navarro Tarín) and Paterna (Patronato Francisco Esteve).
The objective of these sessions is to be able to count from the beginning of the project with the points of view of the people who will potentially be students of the future courses, including their needs and expectations in the decision making about the design of the definitive training program.
During the same, we talked about the different contents that could be part of the training program, as well as the possible durations, methodologies, formats of the training materials, etc.
We also talked about the barriers and facilitators that these different groups find when it comes to having an independent life in the Community.
The conclusions of these co-creation sessions in COPAVA, together with those of AMICA (Cantabria-Spain), HURT (Croatia) and, CERCIOEIRAS and CECD SINTRA (Portugal) will serve to make a first draft of the methodological guide of this project that will help develop then the following intellectual products (Training Materials, Experiential Activities, Online Training Platform and Validation or Pilot Courses).
This first draft will be presented by COPAVA to these 3 groups during the month of March 2018 and we hope that during this work session the final Methodological Guide can be validated.
